New Playground Equipment is Unveiled!

As the New Year begins, Cadillac Area Public Schools Viking Learning Center underwent a transformation with the installation of new playground equipment

Viking Learning Center Director Ashely Mattiuzzo recognized the need to update and enhance the outdoor spaces at Viking Learning Center.  To bring this vision to life, she applied for a grant from the "Caring for MI Future: Facilities Improvement Fund." As a result, Viking Learning Center was awarded a grant of $149,940 to fund the installation of additional playground equipment.

The grant, provided by the Facilities Improvement Fund, is part of a broader initiative in the state of Michigan to support child care education providers in renovating and upgrading their facilities. This funding is designed to create more accommodating spaces for children, especially in areas facing a shortage of child care providers.

Viking Learning Center now offers an even more enriching experience for the children under its care, fostering their growth and development through play and exploration.

Cadillac Area Public Schools is committed to providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for young learners. The grant enhanced the Center’s playground space with modern, age-appropriate structures that encourage physical activity, imaginative play, and social interaction among the children.

Viking Learning Center extends its gratitude to the Caring for MI Future: Facilities Improvement Fund for making this exciting transformation possible. Viking Learning Center serves 150 Preschool students and 200 school aged students with before and after school care.
