I am honored to serve the students, staff, parents and community of Cadillac as Superintendent of Cadillac Area Public Schools. When I moved to Cadillac to begin my career as a junior high English teacher, I quickly fell in love with the people in this community. Throughout my career at CAPS, I have had the opportunity to serve children as a teacher, coach, adviser, assistant principal, and superintendent. My three children attended Cadillac Area Public Schools and are fortunate to have amazing educators and opportunities that will shape their future. I believe ALL kids can learn and deserve to be challenged and supported. I am proud to be a part of the Viking tradition of excellence!

As the Director of Curriculum and Accountability for Cadillac Area Public Schools, I'm excited to be a part of this amazing community. I grew up in Northern Michigan and am fortunate enough to be able to raise my children here too. I believe that a strong and flexible curriculum, along with clear accountability, helps our teachers provide the best education for every student. My goal is to work closely with teachers, parents, and the community to make sure all our students succeed and are ready for the future. Together, we can create a great learning environment where every student can achieve their best.

It is my absolute pleasure to serve as the principal at Forest View Elementary and I feel privileged  to work with our highly qualified and  devoted staff, our wonderful students, and our supportive Forest View families.  I have nearly two decades of educational experience teaching English and social studies at a variety of grade levels.  I believe that positive relationships foster student growth and I appreciate the relationships I have made at Forest View. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 children, usually in a gym or ball field of some sort.

I am honored to serve as the principal of Franklin Elementary. I’m proud to be part of the CAPS district where we are committed to excellence and ensuring that all of our students succeed. We have the power to mold young minds and provide them with the opportunities to succeed in the future. This will be my 8th year in Cadillac, last year as the assistant principal and before that I was teaching science at MTMS and coached basketball. This is my 18th year in education, having taught 2nd through 8th grade and in many leadership roles. I spent one year teaching in North Carolina before moving home, Fraser, and teaching in Detroit for nine years then finally moving my family to Cadillac. We couldn’t be happier. I am supported by my wonderful wife and two children. Most of our time is spent running around to practices and games. I also love to hunt, camp, travel, play sports and spend time outdoors in general.

I have high expectations for myself, the staff and the students. Through hard work and dedication we are ensuring that Franklin Elementary continues to be “THE” place to be!

"Education has the power to change the world," as famously stated by Nelson Mandela. I've been fortunate to have served students at Cadillac Area Public Schools for the past 25 years and I am honored to currently be serving as the principal at Mackinaw Trai Middle School. My wife and I are grateful to CAPS for providing a dynamic educational experience for our three children.

My journey in education has included various roles such as teacher, elementary principal, and coach. My passion for education runs deep, as I am constantly seeking ways to engage, support, and inspire our students and staff. Witnessing the academic, social, and emotional growth of our middle school students is truly amazing. I have been the Athletic Director for Cadillac Schools since 2017.  I previously served as Athletic Director in Newberry, Michigan for eight years and also coached basketball, football and track teams there.  As Athletic Director I am commitment to students, parents and the greater Cadillac community.

I am a firm believer that all students deserve the opportunity to become a stronger, more fit individuals and it is my goal to provide that positive and successful experience for the student athletes at CAPS. I believe that athletics is an extension of the classroom and when those two venues are combined, it will ensure that we hold students to a high standard of character, accountability and pride.

I am really enjoying being in Cadillac with my wife Heather and our daughters.
