Another CAPS CREW opportunity starts next week! Discover Japan: Land of the Rising Sun! Over the course of four days, our Franklin students have the opportunity to learn all about Japan -- including the language, art and culture of this exotic island country. Students will learn the art of origami (paper folding), they'll try their hand at shodo (Japanese calligraphy), and write haiku (poetry). The class is taught by Rosemary Rokita from Up North Arts. Rokita Sensei has taught the “Say It In Japanese” class at the summer College for Kids program at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) for 20+ years. She developed her admiration for all things Japanese when she lived and taught English to Junior High School kids for three years in Japan. The workshop takes place December 4th-7th from 3:35-5:00pm. Space is limited, register today at www.cadillacschools.org/crew
